Restaurants \ Bars

It's has become too hard for us to select our favorites since owners/cook change every year. He is just a list of places we eat.

In the Project:

PLACES WE ATE IN JANUARY 2008

Lagarta Lodge $$$
Get there in time for the sunset. New chef and sunset bar. Great food. Call ahead.

Marlin Bill's $$$
Best dinner in town. Best fish I have ever had. Great service.

Robin's Ice Cream $$
Down the street from Cafe Paris. Great gourmet sorbet and icream. Incredible breakfast and dessert crepes.

Blew Dog Surf Club $$
Now called Caya Sol. Fun surfer place but the food wasn't that great this year(horrible pizza)and the music was always too loud. Meal took two hours to come out and we never did get everything before we cancelled and left. Full bar. Very popular with surfers and locals.

The Gilded Iguana $$
Still my favorite place to just hangout and have a beer. Its within walking distance from the house. All meals. Full bar. Very popular with long-term Project Nosara residents.

Giardino Tropicale $$
Right around the corner from the house on the main road. Awesome, cheap pizza. Eat-in or take-out. Full bar.

OTHERS

Harbor Reef $$
One of my favorites for lunch and the kids love it for the food and monkeys. Local hangout. All Meals. Full bar. Tropical atmosphere.

La Luna $$$
One of the best meals and most romantic spots in Nosara but the service is painfully slow. Located on the beach just before the entrance into the Hotel Nosara. You can have an incredible meal and watch the waves break on the beach just 50 yards away.

Cafe de Paris $$
All meals. Full bar. Internet Cafe. Bakery. Great/cheap place for pizza to go.

Casa Tucan $$
New owners as of June 2005. We had a great meal there. Tyler Marsh also owns the surf school and is doing a great job of rebuilding this business. Quickly becoming the new surfer hangout.

Panchos Mexican Food
Slow service but descent food.

Fooney's Mexican Food
Just getting started and is in walking distance from house.

Casa Romantica $$$

In the Town of Nosara:

We have not ate in Town for 4 years so no advice.

Rancho Tico $

Restaurante Nosara $

Guanacaste $
