How long does “priority mail” take to get from Costa Rica to the United States?

Question by HappyBeingMe2010: How long does “priority mail” take to get from Costa Rica to the United States?
Someone has mailed me a book using “priority mail”, they live in Costa Rica, sending it to me in Illinois.
How long does it take to ship here, I should say.

Mail to/from Costa Rica is a 50/50 proposition. The Postal System in Costa Rica is a complete mess, especially since there are no formal addresses. Packages To Costa Rica are almost as often “lost” as actually delievered. Mail FROM Costa Rica is probably better, if it makes it on the plane.

I would say 4-7 days, IF ever.

i have lived in different parts of Costa Rica and have gotten dozens of packages from the states…never lost even one maybe i was just lucky……and i have also mailed many to the states…..so far all have arrived in 10 days to 2 weeks…..going either way……letters seem to be the same……some have been opened and checked by customs and did take the 2 weeks……

It should get to you in 6-10 days max. USPS and other international mail services are pretty much in the same time frame.
