Where to Stay

If you are arriving late or leaving the next morning I would suggest you stay near the airport (approx. 10 miles north of San Jose). There is only on main 2 lane highway and often comes to a stand still during different times of the day.

Across the street from the airport is Hampton Inn ($90) of Hampton Suites ($110) which are American quality hotels.

Where to get Transportation

All major car rental companies have locations at either the airport or in San Jose. Reservations can be made online.

NatureAir and Sansa have daily flights throughout Costa Rica. Sansa also offers a 1 and 2 week air pass for $199/$299 that allows you to fly all over the country as often as you want. Schedules change based on season. You can reservations online or call their San Jose offices (no office in Nosara). Sansa (506) 221-9414 and NatureAir (506) 220-3054.

Bus: The Alfaro Bus Company departs from San José to Nosara daily at 6:00 a.m., leaving from the Coca-Cola bus terminal, 14th street, 5th avenue. Fare is about $8.00 and it takes between 6 and 7 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The telephone number is: 222-2750 or 223-8229. Buy your ticket in advance.
