The Center of the Cooperativism Studies and Training (CENECOOP R.L) Launches Its Cooperativism e-Learning Program for Costa Rican Students
San José, Costa Rica (PRWEB) June 29, 2005
As the organization responsible for cooperativism training and education in Costa Rica, on July 1st CENECOOP R.L will launch its Cooperativism e-Learning Program for Costa Rican students. This national impact program was developed by the e-Learning leading provider Aura Interactive under the supervision of the Costa Rican Ministry of Education (MEP) through out the Department of School Cooperatives.
Â?This project is part of a constitutional politic defined by CENECOOPÂ?s Executive Direction and Administration Council in order to support and promote cooperativism among middle and high school students. Our aim is to promote the formation of school cooperatives in a new generation educated according to the cooperativism identity. This e-Learning solution is 2.5 hours length and through its 3 modules, it explores our principles, values, history and the cooperativism model in Costa Rica,Â? mentioned Floribeth Venegas, CENECOOP Administration Council President.
We wanted to take advantage of the new technologies to train a very disperse student population in cooperativism and in a short period of time while fulfilling the 6347 law. We took the printed guides used by the Department of School Cooperatives and transformed them into an electronic training solution with a high level of interactivity that allows children to learn in a very new and effective way said Stéfano Arias, CENECOOP R.L Executive Director.
According to Arias, with the pilot plan, CENECOOP trained more than 15,000 kids in 3 months and the number keeps growing. This fact proves the toolÂ?s big implementation scalability. Â?Other important benefits to use this e-Learning tool are: training cost reduction, flexibility to deploy our training to disperse zones at the same time, reducing traveling expenses and the high level of motivation showed by the studentsÂ? he added.
Â?This project has been a great challenge for us because we had to develop a pedagogic training solution that fulfilled CENECOOP and the Costa Rican Ministry of Education requirements. Our solution has been validated by different types of specialists and audiences such as pedagogues, docents, and children, among others. We are sure of the significant value we are giving to the Costa Rican students, and we are proud of being part of this project that will allow us to enhance the cooperativism principles and values.Â? said Randolf Kissling, Aura Interactive CEO.
The Launch event will be held on July 1st at 10 a.m at the Edificio Cooperativo Auditory, San Pedro de Montes de Oca, San José, Costa Rica.

Rivet Logic Launches Near-shore Software Development Center in Costa Rica
Rivet Logic Launches Near-shore Software Development Center in Costa Rica
Reston, VA (PRWEB) March 26, 2010
Rivet Logic Corporation (http://www.rivetlogic.com), a leading provider of open source content management and collaboration solutions, is excited to announce the opening of its near-shore facility in Costa Rica.
With a growing customer base and increased interest in lower-cost, dedicated software development and maintenance resources, Rivet Logic recently established a near-shore facility. As a wholly-owned subsidiary serving as an extension of Rivet Logic’s professional staff in the US, Rivet Logic Costa Rica SRL delivers the same high-quality skills and services to clients.
Longer-term, more complex engagements are the most suitable projects for the Costa Rica Development Center. As the adoption of open source platforms continues to gain acceptance, larger companies working with Rivet Logic on significant software implementation, customization and integration efforts will benefit most from leveraging the company’s Costa Rica talent.
“We see Costa Rica as an ideal location for a near-shore facility given its favorable time zone. This allows for better team collaboration between our customers, consultants and near-shore team to accommodate the real-time communication demands of our agile software development processes,” says Mike Vertal, President and CEO of Rivet Logic.
The Costa Rica operation was initially launched last year but was made available on a limited basis to only a few of Rivet Logic’s strategic customers as the team was ramping up. Based on positive feedback from these initial clients, Rivet Logic has accelerated the expansion in Costa Rica and now near-shore software development services are generally available. The region is home to a lot of talented, eager developers who are anxious to work on leading-edge open source projects for top-tier customers.
Manuel Calvo, who previously worked for HP and brings several years experience developing near-shore operations for US companies, directs Rivet Logic’s operations in San Jose, Costa Rica. Manuel said: “Costa Rica’s team is highly motivated and looking forward to contribute with our talent and passion toward clients’ objectives. They will find us to be a trusted companion providing tremendous value from a strategic location”.
Rivet Logic, founded in 2005, is headquartered in Reston, Virginia. In the past few years, the company has expanded with regional office openings in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and now Costa Rica.
