Costa Rican Vacation Up for Grabs in Online Writing Contest

San Jose, Costa Rica (PRWEB) May 14, 2008

With the lulling U.S. economy and plummeting dollar value, many people have given up on their exotic travel plans these days. CostaRicaPages.com, a top online authority on Costa Rica Travel, hopes to revive the spirit of travel by launching their first ever “Travel Writing Contest”, which is open to writers of all skill levels. All that is necessary to enter is a 300 to 800 word reflection on a travel moment that changed or inspired the writer.

The author of the winning entry will be awarded a 6-night luxury vacation for two to Costa Rica worth over $ 3,000. The website teamed up with the luxury travel agency Costa Rican Vacations, and their top hotel partners to create this trip of a lifetime. The vacation includes all ground transportation between San Jose, the Arenal Volcano and the ideal tropical beach town of Manuel Antonio.

Not only will this vacation offer new, unique experiences to the winning author, but the contest itself is designed to have readers reflect on the importance travel has had in their own lives. New perspectives, friendships and cultural awareness are all rewarding by-products of travel. CostaRicaPages.com hopes that this contest will serve as incentive for others to share such experiences with others and reignite the spirit of travel.

The entries will be judged by the website editors based on content, ability to engage the reader, and writing style. The judges invite writers to be creative with their work as they describe their most memorable vacation experience ever. All submissions will go through an approval process, and if they meet the criteria, will be published on the Costa Rica Pages Competition website.

The deadline for submissions will be July 31, 2008, and the winning entry will be announced the following Monday, August 4. The lucky winner must be able to travel to Costa Rica on Sept. 13 through Sept. 19. Flight arrangements, vacation upgrades or extensions can all be organized through the competition travel partner Costa Rican Vacations upon request.

To participate, read the competition guidelines and submission procedures at: http://www.costaricapages.com/Competition.
