The responses here are clueless, angry and bewildered as to why 46 warships and 7000 troops have been sent to Costa Rica or the “so f’n what” tea party response. Why don’t Americans want to know what is happening in their own country? Ignorance couldn’t really be that blissful.

I’m going to Costa RIca in June, and I was wondering if there were any extra shots I should get? I’m up to date on all my normal ones, and I got a malaria shot, is there anything else I should get? What are the chances of becoming ill there? I’m going for a week.

precautions when traveling to remote areas. If you decide to take precautions in this regard, it’s best to do so 2 to 3 weeks before your departure. Many passengers ask about Malaria pills. Although we are not doctors, we do not recommend taking Malaria pills unless you are planning on being in a remote or high-risk area. Please consult your physician as well as the CDC’s website for the latest updates when planning your trip to Costa Rica.
