Body Surfing – Five Strange Facts About Its History in Australia

Strange as it now seems, Australian beaches were empty of body surfers until the dawn of the twentieth century. Since swimsuits had not yet been invented, laws regulated all public bathing to accord with early colonial standards of public decency.
